Sun-see-ray's almost a fully grown filly - at just over 50 centimetres tall. Two hundred years ago, she might have been used as a pit pony in the mines, but these days miniature horses, which cost around $3,000, are kept as pets or used as harness horses. Ms Jodie Dew, from Jo Carold Miniature Horse Stud, West Hoxton, said: "They're not as noisy as a dog. They don't whine or cry or beg - they just eat hay."
